Baking with Purpose: Rebecca’s Fundraiser for Sands

At Denco Fluid Systems, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible individuals behind our work — especially when they go above and beyond to support causes close to their hearts.

One such team member is Rebecca Watt, a Lubrication Technician based at our Port Talbot facility, who recently organised a bake sale to raise money for Sands, the UK’s leading charity supporting those affected by baby loss.

A Personal Cause

Rebecca’s bake sale was held in honour of her daughter Lilly, who would have turned three this year. As part of the Bake for Sands campaign, she set out with a fundraising target of £250 — but her heartfelt effort, combined with delicious home-baked treats and the support of colleagues and the wider community, saw that target smashed, raising an incredible £435.

Sweet Support Across the Business

Some of the cakes even made their way back to Head Office in Hereford, where they were thoroughly enjoyed — and confirmed just how much love (and skill!) had gone into every bake. It’s no surprise the event was such a success.

Supporting Sands

Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) provides vital support services for bereaved parents and families, as well as funding research and working to improve maternity care practices across the UK. By taking part in Bake for Sands, Rebecca has not only raised funds but also helped increase awareness of this essential work.

Community Spirit at Denco

Rebecca’s initiative reflects the spirit of compassion and community we value so highly at Denco. We’re proud to support her fundraising efforts and hope her story inspires others to get involved in their own way.
